Thank you for your interest in submitting your creative work to Storybook! We are excited to review short stories, illustrations, memoirs, and poetry from talented creators like you. To ensure a smooth and efficient review process, please carefully follow the guidelines below for each type of submission.

Short Stories

Format:

  • File Type: Please submit stories as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF.
  •  
  • Font: Use a standard font like Times New Roman, 12-point size.
  •  
  • Spacing: Single-spaced text with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  •  
  • Length: We accept stories between 1,000 to 5,000 words.
  •  
  • Header: Include your name, title of the story, and word count at the top of the first page.
  •  
  • File Name: Save your file with the following format: `LastName_FirstName_StoryTitle.

Illustrations

Format:

  • File Type: Please submit your illustrations as high-resolution JPEG or PNG files.
  •  
  • Resolution: Minimum of 300 DPI for print quality.
  •  
  • Spacing: Double-spaced text with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  •  
  • Dimensions: Illustrations should be at least 8.5 x 11 inches in size.
  •  
  • File Name: Save your file with the following format: `LastName_FirstName_IllustrationTitle`.
  •  
  • Description: Include a brief description (50-100 words) of each illustration in a separate document, explaining the concept or theme.

Memoir

Format:

File Type: Please submit memoirs as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF.

Font: Use a standard font like Times New Roman, 12-point size.

Spacing: Single-spaced text with 1-inch margins on all sides.

Length: We accept memoirs between 1,000 to 5,000 words.

Header: Include your name, title of the memoir, and word count at the top of the first page.

File Name: Save your file with the following format: LastName_FirstName_MemoirTitle.

Poetry

Format:

  • File Type: Please submit your poems as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF.
  •  
  • Font: Use a standard font like Times New Roman, 12-point size.
  •  
  • Spacing: Single-spaced text with 1-inch margins on all sides.
  •  
  • Length: We accept up to 5 poems per submission, with a total combined length of no more than 10 pages.
  •  
  • Header: Include your name and the title of each poem at the top of the first page.
  •  
  • File Name: Save your file with the following format: `LastName_FirstName_Poetry`

Submission Process

Please upload your files using the submission form below. You may submit multiple entries, but each submission must be uploaded separately. Ensure that your contact information is accurate, so we can reach you regarding your submission.

Review Process:

Our editorial team will review all submissions carefully. Due to the high volume of submissions, please allow up to 6-8 weeks for a response.Selected works may be considered for publication in Storybook anthologies, graphic novels, poetry collections, or other media projects.
